Five new cases of COVID in Sudbury on Monday

COVID-19 numbers in the Sudbury area continue to trend in the right direction.

Public Health Sudbury and Districts reported just five new cases of the virus on Monday.

The number of active cases, however, rose by one – from 80 on Sunday to 81 on Monday.

The Sudbury area reported seven new cases on both Saturday and Sunday.

All five of the new cases were recorded in Greater Sudbury. Public Health’s jurisdiction also includes Espanola, Manitoulin Island and the District of Sudbury.

Four of the new cases are the result of close contact with someone who is infected. One case is under investigation.

The health unit continues to deal with eight outbreaks.
