Zombies are coming back

The undead will return to haunt Sault Ste. Marie’s downtown.

The 10th annual Soo Zombie Walk is Oct. 19.

Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre hosts pre-and post-walk events. Doors open at 3 p.m. Admission is $5 adults, $2 youth 15 and under plus a canned good. Children under five are admitted with a canned good. Donations help Sault Ste. Marie Soup Kitchen Community Centre.

Activities prior to the walk include brain-eating contests, vendors, retro games, live music by Greg Callaghan and zombie makeup for a fee.

Algoma Repertory Theatre presents a preview of Evil Dead: The Musical at 5 and 7 p.m., a release says.

The walk starts at 6 p.m. Games, music, raffles and a photo booth will be at Pita Pit.

Post-walk fun includes a pumpkin carving contest, screening of zombie movies and a haunted house. Admission is $3 or two canned goods.

Soo Zombie Walk and Sault Stryders co-host a Halloween-themed five-kilometre fun run and walk at 7 p.m. Run only participants pay $2 and can meet at the museum’s side entrance.
